In short, ComDev makes satellite parts, so their products get sent up into space! Cool, right? So our team decided that their annual report should equally be as cool. 2013 was their 40th anniversary, so we opted for a timeline navigation: more than anything, we wanted to tell ComDev’s 40-year-old story, because it’s (once again) cool! We settled on a few key elements that would differentiated ComDev from its competitor’s reports: colour–a bright palette that compliments the ComDev blue, video–animations that illustrated ComDev’s products and how they function, and scroll navigation–a cool sliding-panel transition between sections of the story.
Award Winner
Video played a big part in this annual report because ComDev builds parts for satelites. Satelite processes are hard to describe with words alone, or even pictures: hence; our solution is video.
